Monitoring & Evaluation Advisor (div/f/m) - part-time

Your mission
This one year engagement is a 50 % position, based in Berlin, starting as soon as possible. 
As a Monitoring and Evaluation Advisor, you will be part of our Research Department as well as project-member within our MENA- respectively Yemen-engagement. 
​You will work closely with and report to our Head of Conflict Transformation Research Department. Your main responsibility will be to contribute to one of our projects aimed to enhance the safety of local communities in four selected areas of Yemen in addition to other Yemen and MENA projects. You will accompany the implementation of project activities through providing research, contributing ​to monitoring and evaluation, and supporting knowledge management and dissemination of lessons learnt with a wider Yemeni and international audience.
The main tasks of the position include:
  • Design plans for monitoring and evaluation of existing and new projects (primarily in the MENA region)
  • Guide an internal reflection and monitoring process in cooperation with the project team to continuously assess the project methodology and develop recommendations for project implementation and adaption
  • Document project outcomes and insights, contribute to collecting and disseminating lessons learned based on interviews with key stakeholders, partners and team
  • Provide thematic and conceptual inputs for the project team, partners and project consultants
  • Co-develop the organization’s Design, Impact and Learning framework and support internal trainings on monitoring and evaluation concepts and tools
Your knowledge, experience & skills
  • Proven track record in conflict transformation research or practice relating to conflict areas in the MENA region, ideally in Yemen
  • (Advanced) experience in monitoring and evaluation, knowledge of evaluation approaches and methodologies for peacebuilding projects or other interventions in complex settings would be a strong asset
  • Master degree in a relevant field, such as peace and conflict studies, international relations, political science or Middle East studies
  • Fluency in English is essential, Arabic proficiency would be a strong asset
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently

The 50 %-position will be based in Berlin for a period of 12 months (with possibility of extension).
