Your mission
As Advisor (all genders) MHPSS and Peace, you will play a central role within the programme team, ensuring coherence across research, programming/mainstreaming, and policy influence at the critical intersection of MHPSS and peacebuilding/peacemaking. Working closely with colleagues, you will strengthen internal capacity and further develop this strategic focal area. 
 
Overview of the position:
Hours: Part-time or full-time (at least 30 hours per week) 
Starting date: September 2025
Duration: limited contract until the end of June 2026
Location: Berlin, Germany 

 
Your main tasks:
  • Lead the development, adaptation, and implementation of strategies and work plans to mainstream MHPSS in programming and influence policy, with a focus on achieving measurable results.
  • Strengthen the ability of country teams to mainstream MHPSS in their programming by providing tailored guidance, tools, and learning opportunities—measured by uptake and programme outcomes. 
  • Identify cross-country outcomes and insights, translating them into strategic recommendations for programming and policy. 
  • Lead/coordinate research initiatives that produce actionable findings, ensuring results are integrated into programme design and policy proposals. 
  • Represent the organisation in external policy and practitioner spaces, cultivate key partnerships, and co-develop policy positions and events that advance our goals. 
Your knowledge, experience & skills
  • You have a Master's degree in peace and conflict Studies, health, international development or a related field. 
  • Several years of relevant experience with a proven track record in applying MHPSS frameworks to achieve transformative impact in fragile or conflict-affected settings. 
  • Deep knowledge in MHPSS frameworks, methodologies, and global best practices. 
  • Experience in project development. 
  • Strong analytical skills.  
  • Existing international network in the field of MHPSS and international development. 
  • Fluency in English and excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including through public speaking.
