Your mission
For our project focused on negotiation training and process support to resistance and liberation movements (RLMs) in transition in our Negotiation and Mediation Support Department, we are looking for a Project Officer (all genders).

Overview of the position:
Hours: Part-time (50%, 19.5 hours per week) 
Starting date: June 2025
Duration: limited contract until the end of December 2025, with the possibility of extension, depending on project funds
Location: Berlin, Germany
Department & reporting line: This position reports to the Head of Unit, Negotiation and Mediation Support

Your main tasks:
  • You will be an integral part of the project team, supporting the design and implementation of activities and the development of the network of RLMs.
  • You are supporting the management of the conflict transformation activities within the project, including design and implementation of workshops (both in-person and online), the liaison with network members, resource people and interpreters, all aspects of (financial) project administration and the drafting of reports.
  • You conduct research on negotiation, mediation and dialogue processes and/or on transitional processes. 
  • You are supporting the development of draft concept notes, project proposals and assisting in ensuring that a consolidated plan for the entire project cycle, incl. financial calculations, is implemented and adapted to reflect the dynamics of the project and the network.
  • Frequent travels (also to high-risk areas).
Your knowledge, experience & skills
  • You hold a Master's degree within a relevant field such as Peace and Conflict Studies, Political Science, Law, International Relations or similar.
  • You have first relevant work experience (managing projects with multiple stakeholders and partners in the peacebuilding field).
  • First experience and knowledge in the field of peace mediation, negotiation and workshop design and implementation would be an asset.
  • Regional experience in one or more of the following regions: South East Asia, Latin America, West Africa, the Middle East, would be an asset
  • You have experience in remote communication & cooperation, and operating online communication and workshop platforms.
  • Excellent verbal and written language skills in English (at least C1-level) as well as the ability to work in one of the following languages is desired: French & Spanish.
  • Professional skills in the use of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Teams) complete your profile.
